We held Build 07 in Berlin over the weekend. From Thursday night to Sunday, the city was host to a crowd of geeks bent on changing the world. Friday was an internal day of presentations and workshops, and on Saturday we opened our doors to external invitees, friends, potential startups and world-class speakers. Our Build events are designed around providing our startups with the best mentoring, expertise and contacts possible, and our biggest event yet in Berlin met these goals very well. You can see the stream of comments at hashtag #build07 and check out the sharypic photo album here.
Among our speakers, Amazon.com CTO Werner Vogels spoke about how Amazon’s product stack is managed and built on, Marco Pifferi presented details on AroundMe, one of the most successful iPhone apps around, and Tom Hulme finished the day by challenging and energizing the tech founder crowd. We were thrilled to also have Cennydd Bowles talk about the future of products and UX, Stefan Schmidt talk about time to market and Jonas Echterhoff from Unity3D tell us about the future of gaming technology. In addition to our speakers, we had a crowd of experts join the event from investors to techies to journalists, and their feedback and work during the expert sessions with our startups was very well received. And Berlin is the place to be.
We will publish talks and interviews from this event over the next two months. This and much more has been shared first with our newsletter subscribers, so if you want to make sure you get the freshest information from us, make sure you subscribe to the HackFwd newsletter.
