Pitch in Berlin v4 startups
We are running the Pitch in Berlin contest for the fourth time now. This time we received well over a hundred applications and the quality was extremely good. We also added a couple of wildcard invites from Startup Weekends. We invited the following startups to pitch to us this afternoon - here are their introductions.
Abusix (abusix.com)

Abusix keeps networks clean by providing a scalable network abuse handling software in the cloud and realtime network incident data feeds to all kinds of ISPs, Email Service Providers and Technology Providers. Network Operators, Email Service Providers and Internet Service Providers are today handling thousands of incoming complaints and millions of incoming datasets about abusive behavior in their network manually - but still not solving the problem at the source, thus having security and reputation problems with their own network.
Claimee
Claimee by eWarrantee is a mobile application that allows scanning, management and storing of all the data extracted automatically from your receipts. If you ever wanted to claim and needed a receipt to do so, you probably started frantically looking for one you needed. Claimee was created so that you wouldn’t have to wander where that one precious piece of paper is. Unlike most of the competition they don’t want you to pay for the app; they also do not want you to waste time inputting the data manually. Dropdock (getdropdock.com)
Dropdock is a young startup based in Paris providing a cross platform application that allows you to send large files to anyone with ease. Sending large files online to someone is and has always been troublesome. Email hasn’t evolved much and still has a file size limit of 25 MB and sending files through Instant Messaging requires both of the participants to be online at the same time. More recent solutions are too cumbersome. This is where Dropdock comes in. With Dropdock, you’ll be able to send files by simply dragging them to the edge of your screen and dropping them onto the avatar of your contacts in our dock. Regardless of whether they are online, offline, registered Dropdock users or not, we will deliver the files to them.

Elastic IO (elastic.io)
elastic.io is a cloud integration platform that helps to connect SaaS applications without programming. Integration is a fundamental problem. Gamepunks / Sports World Island (sportsworld.is)
game.punks is developing next-generation social sports games: Zynga for console sports games. They are creating a realtime, 3D social sports game platform for web, tablets and other touch devices. The debut game Sports World Island is a massively multiplayer 3D game where users can build their own sports world, compete, watch and bet in a huge number of games against their friends or the best in the world. Imagine playing Wii Sports in web, facebook or mobile, with real 3D graphics, in real time - without needing to pay for or download anything. That’s Sports World Island from game.punks.
Holalabs (holalabs.com)
Holalabs wants to unite the web and has two products to achieve it. The first one is holaIO, a library for mobile developers to help them reuse web content in their applications with very few lines of code. The second one is holadesk, a desktop developed with web technologies that brings the cloud right to your desktop. It’s distributed so it can be synced between your smartphone, tablet and computer. It also has complete social network integration so that you can access them instantly. It has a web apps platform so anyone can develop applications using HTML5 that are completely integrated with holadesk.

Honestly is a Software-as-a-Service platform which enables service-oriented companies to collect, analyse and manage customer feedback. End customers send their feedback via Honestly’s mobile applications / mobile website, which guarantees the easiest feedback process possible and an innovative after sales contact. Compared to traditional technologies, customer feedback via Honestly is in real time, non-public and digital. It enables end consumers to increase the service quality with their feedback and to get vouchers for additional services as a reward. Honestly guarantees companies a greater rate of return, is easy to integrate into existing IT-platforms and because of the SaaS-model has no initial costs.
InstFeedback (instfeedback.com)
InstFeedback is a young Slovak start-up allowing presenters to receive instant feedback from the audience right after their presentations. Most speakers wonder how people liked them and what they could do better next time. Until now, there was no really easy solution for them to find it out. With InstFeedback, presenters can create their own feedback form in less than 1 minute and then share it with their audience through unique link or QR code at the end of their presentation. Audience can then give the presenter instant feedback in less than 30 seconds.
MashMe (mash.me)
mash.me is a Kinect web application for video recording with realtime motion capture and green screen effects. Everybody has seen Avatar, Lord of the Rings or similar blockbuster. For creating similar video content with such effects the average user would need animating skills and expensive hardware and software. The learning curve is high for such software, and when you do learn, it still takes time to create such video content. The basic idea of mash.me is to provide such movie like effects to casual users in the simplest and most accessible possible way.
Rombots (rombotsteam.com)
RomBots Team puts the fun into mobile games. Founded in 2009 in Timisoara, Romania, the team of four was focused from the beginning on building unique and engaging games for mobile platforms. Having released the first title in October 2011, they achieved an organic growth of over 130,000 users in less than 4 months. Their goal is to successfully combine all the puzzle-pieces like gameplay, art, sound and story into a social and immersive experience, seeking to become an important name in the global mobile gaming industry.

Searchgonzo is developing a new product search & discovery engine. It is ranking products by social filters and exploits users’ interest graphs. No SEO results, no paid rankings, no advertising, no snooping on user data, no forced log-ins. Uncover leverages the simple discovery that the light behind a MacBook’s screen can be made into art beyond the Apple logo. Uncover currently creates personalized laser-cut, light emitting MacBooks for the world’s most prominent DJ’s, public speakers and tech enthusiasts and are working on more entry level products for international roll-out.
